Breckenridge City Commission Meets to Thank Sims, Install New Members
The Breckenridge City Commission met in its regular session on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.
The commission honored outgoing Mayor Bob Sims for his eight years of service to the city commission and for his service to the city.
Sims was presented with a plaque and a proclamation honoring his service.
The proclamation thanked him for improving the community and the lives of the citizens of Breckenridge.
Also, incoming Mayor Kord Trammel and Place 1 City Commissioner Blake Hamilton were sworn in during the meeting.
The city also honored Courtney Nichols as the city’s Employee of the Month.
The city commission also heard about various road projects, boil water notices that had recently plagued the city due to aging water lines, and repairs being made.
They also reviewed recent contracts for wastewater plant improvements, and other items.
The city also noted that the Citizens Academy was to be held on June 8, the bulk waste pickup was on June 18, and that Breckenridge City Offices would be closed on July 3.
The city commission also looked at other items as well, including approval of minutes of recent meetings, property purchases, and other consent agenda items at the meeting.
