Former Brown County Jailer Sentenced for sexual favors from inmates

A former jailer with Brown County will spend eight years behind bars for improper sexual relations with inmates.

Austin Paul Hubbard of Brownwood was sentenced Wednesday in the 35th Judicial District Court of Brown County.

Hubbard faced multiple counts of Violations of the Civil Rights of a Person in Custody – Improper Sexual Activity with a Person in Custody involving two female inmates.

Hubbard was also charged with bringing prohibited items into the jail for inmates, including tobacco pouches that he exchanged for sexual favors from inmates.
